Design area limits

You can only check out and modify objects that are inside your design area. Starting a Plant Modeller area for the first prompts you to define the area's limits within the project space. After this, you can change the limits anytime, if needed.

All design areas must fit inside the project space. If the project contains Administrating local coordinate systems that include rotation, the project administrator must make sure that the project space is large enough also for design areas whose main axes do not align with those of the project's coordinate system.

The View limits of a work view can be the same as or smaller than the design area limits. If you change the design area limits later, any work views that fall outside the new area limits must be re-created.

Example:

  • Initially, the view limits are set to be the same as the design area limits which cover the whole project space.

  • Next, the designer uses Model > Manage Area > Set limits and save to change the design area limits so that they cover only a portion of the project space.

  • Then, the designer uses Home > Views > New > Default Views to create new default views that use the new area limits.
